In the department of Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economics there are Master’s degree program with thesis, master’s degree program without thesis and doctoral program. The department started its educational activities in the fall semester of 2001-2002 academic year, and began to admit students at the same semester.
Standards Applied During the Acceptation of Students to Master’s Degree Program
The candidates, who will apply for the master’s degree programs in Educational Sciences Department, are required to have been graduated from 4 years lasting undergraduate programs in Education Faculties of universities or graduated from any program of the universities and have had a teaching pedagogical formation education.
Together with the preconditions mentioned above, providing to be certified, students are accepted by considering the criteria below:
- Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam Equally Weighted Point (50%)
- Undergraduate Academic Grade Point Average (20%)
- Written or Oral Interview Point (30%)
In accordance with the statements written in Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Postgraduate Education Regulations, the acceptation conditions of students are explained.
Total Credit Number Required for Getting Master’s Degree
In order to get master’s degree, students are required to take no fewer than twenty one (21) credits, which means at least seven (7) courses, a seminar study and thesis study Seminar and thesis study are non-credit courses and the students have to be successful in these courses.
Principles Applied in Determining Students’ Supervisors and Thesis Subjects:
The Assignment of Supervisors and Determination of Thesis Subjects, in Sum:
Thesis Supervisor: In order to determine thesis supervisor, if required instructors or students can indicate their requests by writing a petition to the head of department. Apart from this condition, thesis supervisors are properly determined by the Department.
Thesis Subject: Thesis subjects are determined according to the research subjects students are interested in about the field and by the guidance of supervisors. So as to determine useful and original subjects in the field, researches are conducted in accordance with seminar and specialized field courses. As a result of these researches, appropriate and needed topics in the fields are determined as thesis study subject.
